The sale of JohnCow.com proved two things:

1. There are people out there willing to drop fifty grand on an A-List blog. Of course, his first buyer fell through but there are rumors of another deal in the works.

2. JC wrote a post regarding ways to increase traffic, which included announcing that your site is for sale (I’m paraphrasing). Apparently, it worked because traffic shot up dramatically after the post and was linked back all over the joint.

Only time will tell if it was a scam or not…if it was it sure worked in getting people on the site.

Interesting that Entrecard’s business model has changed. I’ve heard a lot of criticism over their previous one. Maybe I’ll get involved now, to see what it’s like

Some people were calling JC’s sale a scam. But basically they call any blog sale a scam, though. For example onemansgoal.com was sold for $10k. I think it was probably a pretty good deal for the purchaser, personally, and looks like the original owner (Bryan Clark) will stick around for a bit to keep it going.

I think at this point I’m going to keep Entrecard. I’ve grown attached to the community and can’t see myself not using it. I agree with the quality though. However, I did find most of my readers through their site. At least the vocal ones.

I could have used this topic for the next podcast. I need to think up my next topic soon.

I am not liking the new Entrecard system of which I have taken the decision to remove it at the end of the month. Seems that search engines,social sites and link backs are bringing in more than the “entrecard dropper”. When the entrecard dropper comes in it screws my bounce rate
Was wondering why ChalkisCheap’s RSS feed wasn’t working on my netvibes. Arnold if you’re reading this, your site will be missed and I hope that one day you come back to your senses
Any news on the next podcast? I would have thought the above article and the topics it contained would have been ideal
