Weekly Contest
Written by Jason Boom on January 28, 2008 – 12:11 pm
After the terrific results of last week’s contest, I’ve decided to mix things up a bit. The entries for this week’s contest will be submitted via comments to this post. Ok, so on to the rules and the winnings.
You can enter in multiple ways:
- by writing a post that talks about my site in some way. It doesn’t have to be a review, but should contain at least one link to the site. This will net you the most entries with 10.
- by joining my reader community on MyBlogLog counts as 5 entries. (if you’re already there then just post a comment in this thread and it’ll count!)
- by commenting in this thread nets you 1 entry.
You can do all three things to receive 16 entries total!
What will you win? Tell ‘em Johnny…
A BRAND NEW C…oh, wait. I have a budget.
- (1) 125×125 ad for 30 days
- (1) text link on the sidebar
- A review of a site, tool, or service of your choice in the Powder Keg Review series. (This does not mean it will be a good review, so be sure whatever it is you want reviewed is up to snuff.)
It’s that easy to win that much! Next week I’ll be toying with Entrecard credits as a prize. Everyone likes credits, but as others have said — been there, done that. We’ll see.

Hey Jason! First time comment here but not my first visit. Thought I’d come out and give my hellos sooner or later, so this was a good chance to do it.
I’ve happily joined your community at MyBlogLog! Thanks for running a great contest!

Neat! I’ll try to write up a post about this if I can get the time later this week.

Hi Jason,
I entered your last contest but didn’t win (tough luck). Well I am in again, it means 5 entries right? I did’nt understand the first one. Where do I post about your site? And since this will count as a comment, it should be the sixth entry. I would want to leave no holes unplugged in the contest, so waiting for you on the question?

@Jesse: Great! I hope to see that. What’s your blog address? I’d love to take a look.
@Syed: Sorry about last time. Everyone couldn’t be a winner. To clarify, you do get six entries — five for joining my community on MBL and one for the comment you made. Excellent! Good luck!

Yeah, I know everyone cannot be a winner and I am not sulking about it. Getting back to the contest, I hope you don’t mind me putting up a similar contest on my site. In this way I’ve mentioned your site and included a link to it. You can have a look at it. It’s http://gamingx.x10hosting.com/blog

Nice contest Jason. I’ve blogged about it and decided to comment on this post for an extra point! Hopefully back 2 back wins are in order

Hey Jason I’ve been toying with the idea of contests. I’m thinking of running a logo design contest. So, the winner would get a free logo design. Do your contests usually last a week. I’m trying to judge a timeline to run a contest like that. Maybe I’d cap it at a certain amount of comments. Not sure.
Anyone seen a contest like that? How much success have you had with contests? Thanks.
